UNCASVILLE- Gatorade State Player of the Year Kastine Evans scored a game high 22 points to lead Norwich Free Academy to a 50-47 victory over Mercy in the Girl's Class LL State Championship at Mohegan Sun Arena.

The Tigers had a chance to tie the game at the finish, but Maura Calamari missed a 3 point attempt at the buzzer, and the celebration was on for the Wildcats.  

For Norwich Free Academy, the win marked their second straight state championship.  The Wildcats also finished the season as the top overall team in the state in the final polls.

Amber Bepko led Mercy with 19 points.  Calamari had 10 points.
