2009 CIAC Class L State High School Baseball Championship – Branford vs. Berlin

MIDDLETOWN- No. 14 Branford stunned top seed Berlin, 4-2, to take home the Class L Baseball Championship at Palmer Field in Middletown. 

Andrew Luzzi drove in Anthony Pellegrino in the sixth inning for the go-ahead and game winning runs.  The Branford pitching staff then closed the door in the bottom of the inning.

Pat Simone led the Hornets with 3 wins throughout the postseason.

For Branford, the win marks their second state title in four years.
